October 31, 2007I’ve finally gotten around to adding the photo’s for the Der and Mairead’s wedding last Saturday. A super day was had … of course ye know all about it, so I don’t have to tell ye.All the rest of the photo’s can be found if you follow this link:

Anyone else have nice photo’s from the day?

Murphy Accepts Prize and Accolades
October 30, 2007Pat Murphy, the winner of the first Inter-Transfer competition is seen above accepting his prize from the league sponsors. He commented afterwards: “We knew we had quality and strength in-depth in the team. We were fortunate to stay relatively injury free throughout the campaign, but we feel we still need to strengthen the team because there are a few weaknesses, and there is so much competition close to us, we need to strive to pull away from that competition now, and freshening up the team should keep everyone on their toes.”
He added: “We are looking forward to a fiercely competitive Christmas because it’s early days yet and everyone still has a chance so long as they choose wisely in the transfer market.”
It should be noted that as not all the entry fees have been collected, we were not able to afford to give Pat his correct winning prize, so we got him a big bottle of Bells instead, and an inscribed plate, which will hopefully last as long as the whiskey…

28 Oct 07 (prelim)
October 28, 2007It’s been a storming weekend for the girls. They’ve showed the lads up no end with some sublime footwork both on the football pitch and on the dance floor! The three girls this week occupy the top three positions for the weeks scores. Great stuff I say, more of the same please.
| Alex | 177 | 35 |
| Sonya | 210 | 33 |
| Mairead | 216 | 26 |
Pat Murphy looks like he’s stumbled over the line to collect the accolades for the first inter-transfer competition. A pathetic 13 points (I didn’t fare much better myself), and a mediocre 21 by Don means that Murphy holds onto his prize on top of the league.
Mairead has had a great week, securing her man ahead of the transfer window (that sounds like there should be points deducted), and then passing her dad to move into third position, and is now a mere 13 points behind top spot.
Sonya has moved up two places with her excellent score into fifth spot, so now we find ourselves with six teams after breaking the 200 point mark, all within 26 points of each other – only the difference of a hat-trick from a defender separates them all
Dermot Mc and the Magicians are having a fierce battle in mid-table obscurity scoring equal points for the week, and for the season so far. They’d better watch out because they’re not that far from the bottom, but god loves a trier, so I’m sure they’ll be concentrating on bigger fish above them.
And the other big news of the week is that Alex’s dashing drużyna have had another spectacular weekend and have lifted themselves from the foot of the table and have climbed an amazing three places on the week … as long as she doesn’t pass me out, all will be okay.
As for the Vultures. They apparently have turned into cannibals and are feeding on their own legs. A new team of vultures in the transfer window please Pat!
These are Sunday night preliminary scores … Assists to be added some tie during the week.

Second Transfer Window Concerns
October 26, 2007Some of ye have already been asking about the timing of the second transfer window, concerned about the availability of players that are departing for the African Nations Cup 2008 (Jan 20th – Feb 10th).
Transfer Window #2 will be from Jan 3rd to Jan 12th (12pm) 2008
So basically you don’t have to get rid of your African players this transfer window unless you really want to … but I would clear them out of my team come next January.

The Last Hurrah
October 25, 2007Last pre-wedding game of golf played in Macroom today. Good craic, a lovely day, few people on the course so no pressure. What more do you want? I was instructed to put some photo’s up, so here we go. Will the driving ever be the same again?
Concern was voiced that Der may never be let out for golf again … but Shay cocked up and said that coming from a sporting family like his, there was nothing to worry about! relief all around

All smiles for the red team

Bursting it

Scratch that last hole

(A)dressed properly?

It looks good … it was.

The unsuspecting cameraman
Of course, if ye want decent sized photo’s for printing etc, then just come to me and ask.

GOLDEN Boots? …or more like Wooden Spoon!
October 23, 2007I just noticed that the four Golden brothers are strutting their stuff at the bottom of the table, occupying positions from fifth last to second last. Now for a sporting family, you’d think they’d know a thing or two about a round ball, but surely they didn’t get their sporting instincts from their father who is lording in the top half of the table. Maybe we should set up a mini league for them!

Transfer Window #1: November
October 22, 2007As I said before, the transfer window is open from October 28th until November 3rd 12:30pm. as usual to change your team, you can either send me a text, email, slip of paper, phone me, comment on this blog. But get your changes in … and well, you can change the team before the transfer window too if you will be away (Der & Mairead). Sensible rules as usual apply … as from the start http://tullig.blogspot.com/2007/08/were-back.html
15 13 transfers over the season, as many as you like in each transfer window (sorry, I previously said 15, and I was asked about it … but it was a mistake on my part)
stay under £60m
No three players from the one team
Ahhhh, just ask and I’ll make up the rules as I go along!!!
Oh by the way, who hasn’t paid yet??? Hmmm, I don’t accept credit cards … but I will accept brown paper envelopes. In fact, DJ is in charge of the money again this year.

28 Oct 07
October 30, 2007These are the updates to the scores after the assists and other points have been added to the players. They are the final scores for the first Inter-Transfer Competition. Congratulations to Pat Murphy who has stolen the show with some superb performances halfway through the competition, and held onto the lead since he snatched it on October 7th. Two other teams that had held pole position are placed second and third with only a hairs breath between them.
Mairead lost out after all the assists were counted and is back down to fourth, but in reality with only ten points separating second to sixth, there’s nothing in it, and anyone could jump out of the chasing pack to take over top position for the rest of the season.
The rest of the table remains relatively unchanged, and anyone still has a chance of catching up to the leaders if they can only play their cards right in the forthcoming transfer window. It looks like it will be an interesting one.
