Pat’s Pricks have stormed into third place this week and into the prize-money, as the produce an excellent week after some recent indifferent form, since their antics over Christmas. They now only have thirty points to make up to get into second spot. As we’ve seen in the recent past, that can be done in two weeks easily. Der’s Mighty Men had a good week, but his closest rivals all had better weeks and gained ground on him. He’s demanding his money already, but there’s life in these old legs yet! It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.
I was talking to Don tonight, and he was saying a couple of interesting things:
That he’d normally not have watched many games, but he has the vested interest now which is great to hear. (i’ve heard this from others too) thanks go to DJ who started this out… and also holds the money by the way.
more importantly though, in his battle to pass out DJ’s Danger men, and avoid being passed by Mairead’s Sexy Men, they’re only ten points behind Eddies Gunners and Shaybee’s team. It was looking like being a dogfight down there. It’s getting down right dirty.
Injury News:
Edwin Van der Saar (Don’s Deadlies & Cash’s Cruisers) has broken his schnoz against Spurs last week. and will miss this weekend’s game against Charlton. But come on, it was big enough already now it’s going to be big and crooked. The lesson for the future is “Never pick any of the same players as Don’s Deadlies. we all remember Ramage, Ameobi, Doyle, Gallas, King, Baptista, Ridgewell (he was poor anyway), carvalho. ….. now if it would only work for ronaldo!
Andy Johnson (Shaybee’s) is having trouble with his ankle. He’s injured half his time anyway.
